TagEnergy (formerly ACE Power) is developing a new clean energy hub near Uralla in New South Wales as part of its commitment to help Australia transition to a clean energy future.
The Hillview Energy Hub is a proposed nationally significant, utility scale energy generation and storage facility. It will generate clean and reliable energy equivalent to 300,000 households for 30 to 40 years and provide significant energy firming via a 1000 MW battery.

Hillview Energy Hub was established by renewable energy developer ACE Power. In mid 2025, ACE Power was acquired by TagEnergy, the owner and operator of Australia’s largest Wind Farm – Golden Plains in Victoria.
For more information about the acquisition, read our announcement
Uralla, NSW

Location

The Hillview Energy Hub is located in Salisbury Plains, 10 km southeast of Uralla and 22 km south of Armidale. It is located within the New England Renewable Energy Zone, a region identified as an optimal location for the concentrated, coordinated development of large-scale renewable energy projects to replace retiring fossil fuel generation.
The site is ideally suited for hosting renewable energy generation. It has already been extensively cleared for sheep and cattle farming, which will continue once the projects are operational.
It is also close to existing high voltage transmission lines and the proposed New England REZ East Hub – a 330 kV switchyard proposed by EnergyCo to be located 13 km from Uralla to connect generators to transmission infrastructure. This reduces the need for lengthy new transmission lines on private land.

About TagEnergy

TagEnergy is a clean energy enterprise creating competitive clean power stations to accelerate the energy transition and help the world reach net-zero carbon emissions sooner. Since its formation in 2019, TagEnergy has assembled a portfolio of more than 10GW of solar, wind and battery storage technologies in the UK, France, Germany, Japan and Australia, of which 1.9GW is under construction or operation. TagEnergy is controlled by TagHolding SAS, a joint venture between the Impala SAS Group and Exor N.V., supported by major investors Mirova and Omnes, and is operated by a team of entrepreneurs, all shareholders. Its operations span the renewables value chain from development, financing, construction and asset management to commercialisation of its competitive clean energy.
TagEnergy has 1.33GW of renewable energy projects under construction and operation in Australia, including the largest onshore wind project underway in the Southern Hemisphere, Victoria’s Golden Plains Wind Farm. With the integration of ACE Power’s portfolio(including Hillview Energy Hub), TagEnergy will have a 10GW pipeline of renewable energy projects across the nation.
TagEnergy’s acquisition of Ace Power delivers to Hillview Energy Hub expertise in the construction and operation of wind farms, complementing ACE Power’s specialisation in early-stage development. The transition has been carefully planned to preserve project momentum and local relationships as ACE fully integrates into TagEnergy. The project team led by Clancy Bowman will remain the same, as will all points of contact.
